When your child is tardy or absent
You must sign the purple absence form in the office each and every time.
Parents and guardians of students who are absent or tardy will receive two automated attendance calls LAUSD. The first call is sent in the morning, based on the attendance information in the system as of 9:30 a.m. The second call is sent in the evening, based on the data in the system at 3:30 p.m. The call will be made to the telephone number provided to the school for attendance notifications. Should you wish to change this number, please contact the school at (323) 664-0051. This attendance information helps improve both student safety and academic achievement.
Calls to the office
Parents often call asking the office to deliver messages to students. The office requests that this be done only in an extreme emergency. To deliver a message properly requires an interruption to both the teacher and student. There is often the possibility that the message will be misunderstood or incorrectly delivered.
Volunteering
To help in the classroom, you must have a valid negative tuberculosis skin test (or X-ray) signed by a physician and a volunteer application form on file with LAUSD. Both forms can be downloaded below. Return both completed forms to the office.
Volunteer applications must be completed for each school yearly and your tuberculosis test is valid for 4 years. Inappropriate behavior to any staff, faculty, and or students may result in your volunteering privileges being revoked at the discretion of the principal. Sign in at the office before proceeding to the classroom. Make sure to sign out on your way out.

Admissions
Please bring one current utility bill (gas, water, electric) no longer than 2 months old. Name of parent/legal guardian needs to be on the bill. Bring a valid license or State I.D. Lice
Infestation with head lice is a common occurrence in the school community. School nurses check children for lice and exclude those who are infested. Your cooperation is essential in helping to control this problem. We strongly urge you to check your child’s hair, clothes and bedding daily for any signs of lice or nits.
